'Like The Asian Holocaust'

Description

This drawing was conceived after studying about the Japanese War Crimes of the 1930’s and 40’s which (unfortunately) have since been covered-up by not only Japan, but the United States government (as well as other countries).

“Like The Asian Holocaust” depicts the graphic nature and skewed mentality of the Japan Empire during the 30‘s and 40‘s. While the main character and figure takes an unrealistic approach (design wise), the overly masculine and sinister shadows convey a sense of evil superiority and power. You see, the Japanese are estimated to have killed 12 times more civilians than the Nazi’s did in Germany. Because of their Bushido/Samurai Code giving them high morale, the Japanese felt superior to other Asians & Whites. After their war with Russia they invaded Hong Kong and annulated thousands of British civilians and prisoners of war without mercy or remorse. When they invaded Vietnam they decapitated the heads of French soldiers.

In China (in the city of Nanking), the Japanese established an all loot-rape-kill policy, killing civilians nonstop from morning until night. Also during this time the Japanese practiced cannibalism and burned thousands of civilians alive. They forced Chinese fathers to have sex with their own daughters, while their sons were forced to have sex with their own mothers. They massacred millions of Southeast Asians and in the Bataan Death March they killed over 10,000 Filipinos.

According to an interview with Private Tadokoro Kozo of Japan, he stated, “There wasn’t any soldier who didn’t rape. After things were done, usually we killed them.. we didn’t want to leave any trouble behind.” During a trial, former Japanese Seargent Masayo Enomoto testified and stated, “After we raped them we stuffed petrol soaked rags inside their vaginas and burned them. It was a message to the enemy, but it was also entertainment for us.”

Regrettably, despite all of this, the patriarchal and corrupt society we continue to accept has allowed the powers that be to cover up this horrifying event. The United States secretly pardoned Japanese war criminals and covered up Japan’s war atrocities in exchange for Japanese biological data and political alliance.

Japan (in all actuality), is responsible for the most evil mass murder ever produced in human history.

So I don’t know about you guys, but these kinds of facts make my blood boil. However the sadness and grief that it brings me out ways any kind of anger I have. While I acknowledge that my art piece isn’t as technical (or as complexed and detailed as some of my other work), I feel it’s the meaning behind it that is the most important aspect of it.

I wasn’t out to make a perfect, abstract, or timeless piece. I was motivated to expose’ this injustice. I am not exploiting it. I am bringing awareness to it. While I do not know how most public schools or colleges are run, I am aware that many white historians and instructors don’t even know that these events happened, so very few teachers even touch on this tragedy in high schools across the United States. High school textbooks are edited and certain events are omitted. So because of this, not only do people not know of these atrocities, but other unfortunate truths covered up by various governments and leaders.

The Asian Holocaust is a lot like the Armenian genocide during World War 1, and the current atrocities being done in Darfur. Facts are covered up and the people that cover them up are getting away with it. I am not a conspiracy theorist; I deal with evidence and truth . We can not let those we call “leaders” get away with murder by covering up important and horrific events. I am a firm believer that the more we educate ourselves about these kinds of issues the more it becomes difficult for our leaders to lie behind their podiums, and in turn, the more difficult it becomes to repeat such violence.

Alas, these days Japan is trying to obtain a UN security council seat, yet the nation still refuses to accept it’s shame against the human race. Japan has yet to properly apologize and take responsibility for their previous actions, nor do they show any kind of sign that they will compensate the victims and lives their past has ruined.

So much for the honor of the bushido code...
This is another reason to dissuade Japinophiles from what they do.
It's ridiculous that a country as advanced as Japan won't acknowledge that they're not off the hook for this. In countries like Iran, North Korea, and even Turkey I can understand why they'd deny things like this or censor them. In Japan, one of the most technologically and economically advanced countries in the world, this just fails to make sense. Maybe they looked at Germany and thought that the grief and shame would slow down recovery. Maybe they're trying to just forget an old shame(not likely). Maybe they wanted all positive PR after the war so that their reputation wouldn't be encrusted in filth and blood.
Whatever the reason, it's still despicable. Frankly, I'd like to see a Japan forced to recognize the horrors of it's past, forced to look at itself the same way Germany has. Perhaps they'll finally wake up to reality and realize no one's smiling, and no one's laughing.
